What risk rating score requires work to stop immediately?
A risk rating of 15–25 (Critical) requires work to stop immediately. Under OSHA’s Hazard Identification guidance, employers have an ongoing obligation to control all serious recognized hazards. A Critical rating – produced by any combination of Likelihood and Severity scores that multiply to 15 or above – indicates an unacceptable level of risk. Work must not resume until additional controls reduce the risk rating to High (10–14) or below, and the competent person must authorize resumption in writing on the risk assessment form.
