First Aid Kit: Summary

The purpose of the survey is to ensure that the first aid kit is fully stocked, readily accessible in case of emergency.
Furthermore, identifying areas of improvement and providing proposed recommendations.

Inspection First Aid kit contents:

A monthly physical inspection of First aid kit shall be conducted to ensure its integrity and readiness as well as verification of seal’s integrity.

Refilling First Aid Kit:

If seal is found to be broken, the First Aid kit’s contents shall be inspected and refill requirement.

Check Expiration Dates:

Verify the expiration dates of all supplies in First Aid Kit, including bandages and antiseptic wipes.

Training:

Paramedic staff shall provide First Aid Kit training to employees on proper utilization of First aid Kit contents during inspection and how to use its contents. 

Refresher Training:

Paramedic staff shall provide Refresher First Aid Kit training during every inspection to employees on proper utilization of First aid Kit contents during inspection.

Record Keeping:

Rigorously manage through a comprehensive system of stock monitoring, First Aid Kits Locations, refilling, usage tracking, and monthly inspection.

ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2021: section 7

Label and marking of First Aid Kits distributed in areas:
Each kit shall label with its contents and its Location shall be visibly marked, Readable, permanent and if adhesive Label is using it shall not able to be removed. 

First Aid Kit: OSHA: 29 CFR 1910.151

Requires employers to provide medical services and first aid to employees, including 
1. first aid kits
2. Training to employees on first aid kit contents and its usage.
3. Availability of medical personnel for guidance and consultation.

Mandatory first aid training: 

Provide regular training sessions for all employees to educate them on first aid kit contents, usage and basic first aid procedures.

Visual reminders: 

Place concise and clear labels or posters near first aid kits and basic usage instructions.

Employee engagement: 

Reassure employees to participate in first aid and refresher training.

Departmental Designation of first aid providers:

To ensure prompt and effective first aid response, designate a qualified employee as the first aid provider for each department.

Accountability: 

 Ensure first aid provider takes ownership in his working hours.

Reporting: 

 Accurately documenting and reporting incidents, including treatment provided and patient outcome.

First Aid Kit: ANSI/ISEA Z308.1: Classes of Kit

Class A Kit: 
first aid kit is proposed to provide a basic range of products to treat most common types of injuries faced in the workplace. 
Examples include wounds (such as cuts and abrasions), burns, also eye injuries. Any first aid kit shall designate Class A 
shall contain the variety of compliant supplies in the quantities stated and minimum size or volume of  items in are also in
Table 1 of ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2021. 

Class B Kit: 

is proposed to provide wider range and quantity of contents to deal with injuries that workers may come across in more occupied, multipart, and/or high-risk work areas. 
The contents and quantities for Class B first aid kits are also mentioned in Table 1 of ANSI/ISEA Z308.1-2021. 
 First aid kits for Class B, contained two items not present in Class A 
First: a splint 
Second: a tourniquet.
it also possess all contents present in Class A kits, but in greater quantities 

ANSI/ISEA Z308.1: Types of Kit

Type I
When use of first aid kit in indoor areas. Therefore, they are commonly not intending to be a portable, and it is found in a equestrian, fixed position. 
Type II
When use of first aid kit for portable use indoors. The potential for damage of kit contents is slight. 
Type III
When use of first aid kit for a portable use in indoor or outdoor settings. The damage of kit supplies is not possible. Kit shall has a water-resistant seal, and it can be equestrian in a fixed position.
Type IV 
When use of first aid kit for a portable use in mobile industry or outdoor areas. Potential damage to kit contents is substantial, due to these factors and rough handling. These kit has a means to be equestrian. Because of risky areas, Type IV kit need to meet the performance guidelines for corrosion/moisture/impact resistance ability.
